These purple sweet potato Nutella twisted buns are soft, sweet, fluffy and naturally purple. The purple sweet potato not only provides colour, but also helps keep the dough moist and make it light and airy. Besides Nutella, nut butter or homemade jam can be used to fill the buns too. Store these buns in a sealed container and eat within 2 or 3 days. They also freeze well!

Tea egg is a popular Chinese snack with marble patterns, in which the boiled eggs are cracked all around and then boiled again in a spiced tea made with soya sauce and spices (I used star anise, cinnamon sticks, bay leaves, chilli pepper, and orange rind). These eggs are so flavourful and usually have a greenish gray ring because they cook much longer. It's harmless and perfectly edible. If you prefer soft runny yolks, skip the 2nd boiling, just steep the cracked eggs in the spiced tea for 24 hours. The leftover spiced tea can be reused. Freeze it if you don’t plan to make another batch soon.
Feel free to choose any tea you prefer or have on hand. Use dark soya sauce if you could, as it helps to create the marble effect. The longer the eggs stay in the spiced tea, the more intense the marble effect. Enjoy them as a snack or breakfast!

A quick and delicious no yeast bread made with full fat Greek yoghurt, organic wholegrain rye and bread flour. Adding yoghurt to the bread dough is the easy hack for a fluffy and soft crumb. The crust will stay crunchy for a couple of hours and will become softer after it cools down. The bread is scrumptious slathered in butter and / or homemade marmalade. You can substitute for plain yoghurt, which is slightly runnier, thus add an extra 30 grams of flour if using.

Bread without wheat flour are very popular right now. Instead of wheat flour, this oat bread contains many seeds, nuts and of course oat flakes. The nuts and seeds are held together here by the crashed linseeds, psyllium husks and water. (That is why the resting time is particularly important for the flourless bread.) This gives the bread a firm consistency and makes the bread particularly crunchy. This delicious seedy bread is super filling and contains lots of healthy ingredients and is bursting with fibre, protein, healthy fats and minerals. It is easy and can be prepared in no time at all. Be sure to try it out! It's gluten, dairy, sugar and egg free - an ideal bread alternative for those who have sensitive tummies or simply want to eat consciously. If desired, flavour the dough with some turmeric, fennel, and careway seeds. For a richer version, replace 50 ml of water with coconut oil.
Oats are full of goodness and provide our bodies with a lot of good nutrients, minerals, fibre and trace elements. In addition, oats can help lower blood sugar levels and prevent you from the dreaded sugar cravings. Rye or barley flakes can be used instead.

Freeze the rest in the freezer bags for a rainy day.

Grape Clafoutis

Clafoutis is a rustic dessert from the Limousin region in France, made with fruit that is covered with a custard batter, which is unlike a traditional custard, as it has flour in it that gives it more structure. Traditionally the fruit should be cherries, unpitted black cherries specifically. But when Autumn arrives, bake this desserts with plums, figs, grapes or use whatever fruit you have on hand. It comes together quickly with just a few ingredients, is equally as tasty warm, at room-temperatur, or chilled, and keeps well for several days.

Oatmeal Breakfast Bowl with Coconut Milk and Cacao Nibs

A bowl of oatmeal is one of the healthy ways to kick start your morning. It is easy, filling, delicious and healthy without added sugar. Oatmeal is packed with fiber, which can help to ease gut problems, and provides a wealth of vitamins and nutrients that we need for a healthy and nutritious start to the day. I used coconut milk to prepare the porridge, but any milk or even water would be just fine. It's naturally sweetened with fruits, but if you really have to add a sweetener besides fresh fruit, opt for a natural one like maple syrup or honey. A teaspoon is all you need.

Baked Irish Potato Farls

A farl in Gaelic literally means "fourths". They are shaped into a circle of dough and then cut into quarters, and here refers to a quarter of a flatbread, which is more commonly pan-fried, made from mashed potatoes and spelt flour. Traditionally they were made with oatmeal, that would result a coaser substance and nuttier flavour, butter and potatoes – no flour, no leavening agents. The less flour and raising agent you use, the denser and moister the farl. Using more flour, and raising agents (baking powder and baking soda) and moistening the mixture with milk creates an wonderfully light and fluffy bread-like texture.
These baked quarters can be made with leftover mashed potatoes too. Potato farls are most often served as the breakfast or at teatime. But you can absolutely enjoy these with soups or salads as a lunch. Leave out the onions, rosemary and black pepper if you want to serve them with a dollop of homemade jam. Experiment with different herbs and spices, like chives, dills, spring onions, cumin, or caraway.

This savoury sweet potato toast with avocado, cherry tomatoes, olives and fresh herbs tastes equally good for breakfast, as a midday snack and for dinner. They make a surprisingly delicious and satisfying gluten-free substitute for toast. Sweet potato slices are toasted in your toaster or oven until tender, then top them with your favorite toppings and flavours (scrambled eggs and bacon bits, ricotta and honey or tahini and blueberries) to make each meal fun and interesting. Be creative and enjoy your food responsibly!
