Ras el hanout is a spice blend from North Africa, where it is used heavily in Moroccan cooking. This Moroccan spice blend is full of warm spices (like paprika, cumin, ginger, nutmeg, coriander, turmeric, cardamom, cayenne and mace, etc.) that gives the dish a unique aroma and exotic, robust, but slightly sweet flavour. If you don't have ras el hanout, garam masala or curry would work too. Or just use your favourite seasonings.

Looking lovely.
What a unique idea. I've stuffed peppers, potatoes and other vegetables, but never onions. The Ras el hanout is new to me and it contains so many of my favorite spices. I love everything about this recipe. Ras el hanout

I have always liked Arabic food. I will try to make this recipe. Maybe it tastes great. Thank you Angie for giving us your good culinary taste.
With best wishes, you receive my greetings !!
Me gustan mucho las especias Ras el Hanout, aunque las consumo poco porque los de casa son poco especieros. También me gusta el relleno que le has puesto a esas cebollas. Muy ricas.

This looks delicious, as always, although probably not one for me, as I seem to have developed a recent and not very nice reaction to all but a tiny portion of onions in a dish!
I can still look, drool, smell the mix of those delicious herbs and spices and dream though, so thanks for sharing! :)

Angie, Very attractive and exotic looking dish! My only problem is that I don't like onions unless they're cooked down in the dish. Its both a texture and taste thing with me...and it drives my wife crazy. Take Care, Big Daddy Dave

Pure Yum Angie. We love Ras el hanout and cook with it regularly, so we'll add this to the rotation...
Love the spice blend! SO delicious when the onions are roasted to sweetness and combines with the savory stuffing.
