The mix of panfried broccolini, herbs, sprouts, and blueberries on a creamy white bean purée looks inviting and moreish. Broccolini, aka aspabroc, or baby broccoli, is a cross-breed of broccoli and Chinese kale or gailan. They have smaller florets, longer, firmer, thin stalks and much tender than broccoli and has a milder flavour, but more expensive.

The exotic flavour combination of fresh basil and aromatic Szechuan pepper simply sounds great and cocoa actually harmonises perfectly with the spicy pepper and fresh basil. If desired, frost the cake with ganache icing for an even more luscious finish or simply dust with some cocoa powder.
Xylitol is a natural sugar alcohol that looks and tastes like sugar but has fewer (or none) calories and doesn't raise blood sugar levels. But feel free to use the regular white sugar. Szechuan pepper is not a pepper at all: it is called this because its berries resemble black peppercorns.

Want to bake bread but don't have any yeast in the house or are allergic to yeast? No problem, you can bake your own bread quickly and easily with this recipe. I used baking powder as a leavening agent, which works at least as well as fresh or dry yeast and also simplifies the baking process considerably without having to wait for it to rise. Have fun baking!
Brotgewürz is a variety of bread spice mixtures often used in German bread making. It usually contains anise, caraway, fennel and corainder seeds, with the other additions or changes in amounts depending on tradition, taste, and the type of bread. If you can't find it, just grind 2 tablespoons of each anise, caraway, fennel and corainder seeds in a coffee grinder or with a mortar and pestle.
