Vegan Multi Seed Crackers | © 2017 | | © 2017 |

These 100% seed crackers, adapted from taste, are gluten-free, grain-free, nut-free, paleo and vegan. The recipe features a variety of seeds, and is full of fiber, omega-3 fatty acids and minerals. Enjoy them with avocado, hummus or cheese.

  • 180 g Sunflower seed kernels
  • 70 g Flaxseed
  • 70 g Red quinoa
  • 50 g Chia seeds
  • 1/2 tsp Garlic salt
  • 1/2 tsp Chilli salt
  • 1/2 tsp Dried thyme
  • 360 ml Warm water
    li>Place all the ingredients in a bowl. Set aside, stirring occasionally, for 20 minutes or until water has absorbed.
  1. Preheat the oven to 140C/280F fan-forced. Line 2 baking trays with non-stick baking paper.
  2. Press the seed mixture firmly, in a thin layer, onto each prepared tray, ensuring there are no gaps. Bake for 1 hour or until golden and crisp.
  3. Allow crackers to cool completely, then break into large pieces. Enjoy them with your favourite dips! | © 2017 | | © 2017 | | © 2017 |

The water activates the chiaseeds and the flaxseeds which create kind of a gel and hold the cracker together.

You make the coolest stuff. Whenever I do cheese and crackers at a party, I'm always buying the most expensive crackers, because I want somthing interesting. I don't know why I've never made them myself. Thanks for inspiring me to change that.

I’ve always wanted to make my own multi-seed crackers, they are simple to make and always delicious. Plus multi-seed crackers are really good for you. Great pictures Angie.

These remind me of crackers my mom and I used to make. Straight Flax and Seasonings. They were so good. TOO good... We would eat too much and get super bloated, hahahahahha! Oh well, they were amazing going down ;)

Angie, your seed crackers would be a great addition to a more focused plant based diet. I have no doubt the dip in the photo is very healthy too. These crackers are probably really nice and crisp, perfect for cheese.

I love making my own crackers but I have never made any like this, nor even seen a recipe like this. These look fabulous! However, I do have a question. Is the quinoa cooked or uncooked? I don't use it much so I'm not eve sure if eating it uncooked is normal.

Just the other day I saw crackers being sold here which where with sesame and homemade and I thought to myself that it would be nice to make your own with your favorite seeds etc. Thank you for the inspiration Angie! :)
