Pop a couple of these delicious power balls before workout and you’ll get some protein, fiber, and magnesium along with omega-3 essential fatty acids and a load of antioxidants to fuel you but not fill you. They are great as on-the-go breakfast or for afternoon snack. Soya flakes can be replaced with oat or spelt flakes.

- Place soya flakes, toasted almonds, flaxseed, protein powder and raisins in a food processor or blender. Pulse until well ground, then add in mango puree, stir until the mixture is well combined.
- Cover with a plastic wrap and chill for 2-3 hours. Remove and shape into balls. Coat the power bites with almonds, coconut flakes and flaxseed. Store in the refrigerator for up to 3 weeks.

I google soy flakes and there appears to be a wide variety. Do you think quinoa flakes would work? I have those already in my pantry. I'll give it a try and see what happens.

Pop a couple?...no way can you stop at just a couple of these yummy and most amazing cute little power balls; how about half a dozen, or more. Just be careful that someone out there doesn't 'market' these most FAB power balls. They would be a winner for sure:)

These power bites are so intriguing to me... I wonder if you still pick up any of the texture from the soy flakes once ground? I love the use of the mango puree here - it must add beautifully to the flavour. Wonderful recipe Angie.

I doubled the recipe and subbed out a bit; I used ground filberts in place of almond, and then cranberries, raisins, strawberries, candied ginger and orange bits, raisins, and prunes. I didn't have mango on hand, so used organic beet juice (6 Tbsp for the double) and 2 Tbsp pure maple syrup. Excellent results. Quick and delightful. Much appreciated!
