These oven-roasted turmeric seasoned cauliflower steaks are easy to prepare and would make an excellent vegetarian side or light dinner.
|
- Preheat oven to 180C/350F. Line a large baking tray with parchment paper.
- Cut the cauliflower into four 1.5cm-thick slices, leaving base intact.
- Whisk the olive oil with the turmeric in a bowl until combined. Brush over cauliflower steaks and place them in the prepared baking tray. Grind some black pepper and sea salt over.
- Roast cauliflower in the oven for 25-30 minutes or until tender and crisp. Scatter with chopped herbs and thinly sliced red chilli, to serve.

I’ve always wanted to make cauliflower steaks, and I never use turmeric in my cooking so I have to try this recipe. You make veggies so exciting Angie, thank you for that ;)

@Sue/the view from great island It should work, Sue, and would be even more beautiful with the grill marks.
As a vegetarian this is embarrassing to admit, but I have never had cauliflower steak! These look amazing Angie, so bookmarking them to give them a try the flavours sound wonderful.
I love love love cauliflower steaks! Your version looks amazing, Angie!
I am loving turmeric, it has such a wonderful, earthy flavour against the sweet roasted cauliflower. I have been using fresh because it seems to be more potent and I love it's anti-inflamatory properties. I will have to try these gorgeous steaks, I bet they'd be amazing on the BBQ too!
Perfectly roasted! Look at the golden hue, and lightly-charred brown surface/edges. Been a while since I roasted cauliflower steaks. They are so delicious.
Love cauliflower steaks! But why haven't I made them with turmeric? Great idea -- definitely going to try this recipe. Thanks!
Sounds like a delicious way to make cauliflower.
Cauliflower is one of my favourites and I could eat a plateful of these!
Sincerely, thank you for this fab brilliant idea. Gonna make for our next Saturday vegetarian meal.
It is snowing lightly as I type this comment, winter isn't over yet which makes this dish the perfect meal. I love that it takes three days, that way you're not stuck in the kitchen bending over a pot for hours at end. Plus, I love that it allows you to skim of the excess fat. I have a lamb shank recipe that I make a day in advance because lamb shanks also tend to be quite fatty and although some people love the richness, I can't do it. Your dish looks rich and delicious.
I have a large cauliflower in my fridge at the moment. I was going to use half of it with pasta, I now know what I'm doing with the rest of it.
Yassss! I love cauliflower steaks! These sound delicious!
I simply LOVE the idea of these cauliflower steaks! so flavorful and colroful!
Delicious and healthy cauliflower Angie! They look wonderful!!
Now this is something I could eat two plates of ..and not feel guilty ;)
Such amazing, eyecatching colours!! Am sure tastes great too..

This looks like an awesome meatless main dish to me, Angie! I will be trying these Cauli Steaks soon :)
I love this type of meatless meal!

I've seen cauliflower steaks all over the internet for ages and it's really about time I tried them for myself. Your use of turmeric makes them look really attractive.
