Those muesli bars, a mixture of seeds, oats, dried fruit and honey along with some brown sugar, so simple to prepare and perfect for those who enjoy the natural goodness of seeds, cereals and fruit. They are a healthy and high protein snack you can add to the daily lunch box.
Recipe adapted from Taste.

- Grease and line a 3cm deep, 16cm x 28cm baking pan with baking paper. Cook oats, coconut, wheatgerm, sesame seeds, sunflower kernels and pumpkin seeds in a frying pan over medium heat, stirring, for 8 to 10 minutes or until golden. Transfer to a bowl. Set aside to cool. Stir in sultanas.
- Cook butter, honey and sugar in a small saucepan over medium heat, stirring, for 3 to 4 minutes or until sugar dissolves. Bring to the boil. Reduce heat to low. Simmer, without stirring, for 7 minutes or until mixture forms a soft ball when a little is dropped into ice-cold water. Add to dry ingredients. Stir until combined.
- Spoon mixture into pan. Use a large metal spoon to press down firmly. Allow to cool. Cut into squares. Store in a foil-lined airtight container for up to 7 days.

So healthy and naturally sweet - better than anything store-bought!
@CL
It's called "Weizenkeim" and I got them in Edeka.
And those bars are not crunchy, but chewy.
These sound lovely! I must try them!
i love these healthy bars, but have not made them. have seen many recipes variations, most of them are crunchy. What's the difference between muesli and granola bars?
I KNOW I would love these bars...everything in them is delicious.

Yum these really look great and HEALTHY unlike most of the ones you can buy. Not too corny! More like the lush ones I used to buy at Pret while living in London. Good times.
Cheers,
Tobias

these remind me of some bars I made couple of months ago with seeds and nuts but with eggs. Can't wait to try your egg-less version. Thanks Angie!
The bars look great.
Thank you soo much for this recipe! I was looking for a good recipe for weeks now. My boys love having them at school, but commercial ones are full of additives.

I love the ingredients, they just scream healthy and chunky, too many "bars" like these have too much sugar in them killing all of the other flavors :(
Thanks for sharing...
Sounds and looks really yummy. Thanks for sharing.
Lets have some fun. Take the test Your Snacks Personality and find out which of these snacks do you prefer? I have taken the test and enjoyed a lot. Hope you too will enjoy it. Have Fun!!

Hi Angie-I've had homemade muesli before, but never a homemade muesli bar. Look so healthy, and yummy! This is one particular muesli bar that I would for sure want to make. Love it:DDD
Those bars look wonderful, Angie. And so good for you. I've never made a muesli bar.
I always prefer homemade bars, as I don't like the aftertaste the store bought ones have ~ you have done a fab job here, they look super perfect!

Hey, I'm deeply impressed. Meet your new follower Radhika. Do stop by mine when you find time. I would like your opinion.
@Pacheco Patty
Patty, I am sure they would work.
Wow you sliced them so cleanly! I need to make this for an on-campus snack. Then I can stop wasting so much money on the mediocre but pricey ones they sell on campus!
Beautiful photos Angie. My whole family would love this recipe. Wonderful!
Absolutely yummy Angie. Now I'm inspired to make my own bars as well.
Such a great, healthy snack. I have yet to make granola bars. I need to stop buying them and start making them.

These look great and I can't wait to try them out.
I never had these before. The idea sounds really nice with all the nuts and I like savory bars, so this would be one of my fav.
This looks easy to make, Angie. Nutritious and healthy too!
These look amazing, Angie. I've never used dessicated coconut before. I'm off to google now.
Wow, these look like some fantastic health food bars. They make what I eat look like cardboard - I am moving up!
how 'bout that?? a second bar recipe ....yum..... thanks for this one too..
Veronica
I made these bars, they are the tastiest (is there such a word??) chewy bar I've eaten! but the ingredients couldn't stay firm together. they become firm after I freeze them, but 30minutes in the hot malaysian weather, they just become soft and fall apart loosely. so I keep them in the freezer! haha. Maybe I didn't cook the liquids long enough for it to harden?
@Shannon @ JustAsDelish Could be. I think mine was even slightly overcooked, so it's a bit too hard.
Hi Angie!! Wonderful, delicious!!!
