Friday, April 03, 2026| |
|
This delicious one pan chicken meal comes together in under an hour with minimal effort—but tastes like you spent all day in the kitchen. If you don’t have herbes de Provence, use Italian herbs or even just oregano or thyme. Feel free to use some other greens instead of wild garlic or add in some extra mushrooms. It makes a perfect midweek dinner for a family.
Carrot and Snow Pea Quiche
Thursday, April 02, 2026
|
A delicous vegetable quiche that’s great for a spring meal. It’s super easy to make, perfect hot or cold for brunch or dinner. Make the crust from scratch if possible, but if you are in a pinch, a quality store-bought all-butter crust would work as well. I replaced some flour with toasted sunflower seeds, you can use almonds or just same amount of flour instead. The filling is loaded with lots of snow peas and baby carrots, but you can use whatever veggies you want for it.

|
These oven-braised chicken legs are fall-off-the-bone tender, flavourful and so versatile that you can serve them with a wide range of sides, from classic steamed jasmine rice, chow mein, buns, and stir-fried vegetables to fresh salads. And the bonus? You just need one pan to have this delicious meal ready in less an hour. If you can’t find Chinese Shaoxing rice wine, use dry Sherry in a 1:1 ratio. However, it is worth noting that there is also a small amount of wheat or barley starters/yeast in Shaoxing rice wine. So it’s not gluten free.
No Knead Potato Bread

Adding mashed potatoes to the bread makes it softer, moister, and fluffier, but you'll still get that iconic crusty golden crust. The bread uses very little yeast and the dough does not even need to be kneaded. Instead, it relies on a lengthy fermentation time to develop gluten. You can add some chopped rosemary or thyme to the dough to make it even more interesting and delicious. I baked the bread into a loaf, but you can shape them into a boule and bake in a Dutch oven.

Cheesy Sausage and Runny Egg Muffins
Saturday, March 28, 2026
|
These aren’t your average breakfast muffins. These cheesy sausage muffins have a beautiful runny egg inside a savory, tender, fluffy sausage and cheese muffin. They are ready in 30 minutes and perfect for breakfast, brunches, or snacks! For boiled eggs, use older eggs as they are easier to peel. Use smoked salmon instead of sausage if you prefer and smoked tofu if you are a vegetarian. The boiled eggs can be done a day before. Next day, freeze the unpeeled eggs in the freezer for not more than 30 minutes while you prepare the batter. This way, the eggs are cold and will stay runny after baking.
Everyday Spiced Chicken and Radishes
Friday, March 27, 2026| |
|
This easy chicken recipe is especially delicious and vibrant, with peppery radishes absorbing the savoury drippings of the chicken. It's a budget and healthy dinner that's easy to make for the family yet impressive enough for company. I like to toss the greens of the radishes with the pan juices until just wilted because they take on tons of flavour and provide the perfect bitter contrast. If the radish leaves ain’t fresh enough, you can use spinach or other greens. Or simply use arugula as the orginal recipe suggested.
If you’ve never roasted a radish, you’re seriously missing out. Eaten raw, radishes are crunchy in texture with a distinctively peppery bite, but once roasted and absorbed the luxurious chicken schmaltz, they are sweet, earthy and mellow...just like low-carb potatoes.
Moroccan Carrot Salad with Savoury Granola
Thursday, March 26, 2026
|
A refreshing and vibrant salad combining crunchy carrots, peppery arugula, and juicy oranges is so versatile and can be enjoyed all year round. Use young and organic carrots if possible.
The savory granola with walnuts, seeds, and ras el hanout is full of wonderful flavours and add a delicious crunch to this Moroccan carrot salad. I strongly recommend you to double the granola and save some for roasted vegetables, cheese, soups or simply as a snack. Store in an air-tight jar in room temperature for up to a month.

This quick chicken recipe is the perfect midweek dinner for the whole family to enjoy. Succulent bone-in, skin-on thighs are seared until crispy, before being cooked with a hazelnut and chilli paste. Tossing the snow peas with the hot nutty sauce just before serving ensures they remain crisp-tender and vibrant green. If you're looking for a fast and simple one-skillet chicken meal, this is it.

Balinese Roasted Chicken Wings
Monday, March 23, 2026| |
|
Crispy, juicy chicken wings marinated with aromatic spices – this straightforward roasted chicken recipe brings together the fragrance of galangal, kaffir lime leaves and lemongrass (essential ingredients in Indonesian kitchen together with shallots and garlic) with succulent chicken wings, then baked to the crispy perfection.
If you can’t find lime leaves and galangal, bay leaf and fresh ginger are good substitutes. For 1 lemongrass, use 1 teaspoon of lemon zest and ½ teaspoon of grated ginger. Deseed the red chilli if you can't handle the heat!
Thai Massaman Beef Curry
Saturday, March 21, 2026
|
Massaman curry is a classic Thai curry of Muslim origin and traditionally it’s loaded with potatoes. I have simply skipped them and used 2 onions, but you can use radishes, kohlraib or even cucumber instead. If you are short in time, use a ready-made massaman curry paste. This recipe calls for braising beef, however, you can make this with beef ribs, lamb shanks, chicken, pork or even tofu too. Just be sure to adjust the cooking time accordingly. If you are sensitive to peanuts, simply omit them or use cashew nuts instead.
Massaman means "Muslim" and is derived from a now-archaic English term "Mussulman," highlighting its origins as a fusion dish brought by Persian or Malay traders.
