Hariyali Murgh or green chicken, a classic Northern Indian dish, is chicken coated in a green sauce, typically made with green chilli, coriander, mint leaves, yoghurt and spices. It is hearty, flavourful, and so delicious served with rice, naan or chapati. I used chicken thighs, but chicken breast or drumsticks all work. The cooking time might vary. You can cube the chicken and thread them together to make chicken skewers too.

- To make the marinade, use a mini food processor to blend the chopped coriander, mint, green chillies, garlic, ginger and spices with the yoghurt.
- Place the chicken thighs in a large bowl, spoon the marinade to cover it completely, then cover the bowl and leave in the fridge for 6 hours, or overnight. Remove from the fridge at least 30 minutes before cooking.
- Preheat the oven to 180C/350F. Season the marinated chicken with the sea salt and place in a roasting pan. Dot with the butter. Cover the roasting pan with a piece of foil and bake for 30 minutes. Remove the foil and cook for a further 30 minutes to reduce the liquid. Garnish with slices of lime, red onion and fresh corainder.

...it certainly is a colorful dish!
Sound tasty, a yummy chicken recipe. Thanks for sharing! Take care, have a wonderful week!
I like a little heat in this dish and then that masala will spice it up perfectly!
I don't eat chicken, but I'd love to try this green sauce. xxx
Looks delicious
I'll bet that's filled with lots of yummy flavors!
This sounds good. Too bad my husband wouldn't eat the sauce. Too bad he's such a fuss budget-ha ha. Hope you've had a great weekend Angie.

Un abrazo.
Hola Angie. Te ha quedado un pollo delicioso. Tiene que estar muy sabroso. Besos.
I like chicken - any parts of it, so no problem. Only that I have to eliminate from the recipe yoghurt and butter (no mixing of meat and dairy in my cooking).
Molto invitante, grazie della ricetta!

As you know from my post today, I love Indian food. I have never heard of this particular chicken dish and I can’t wait to make it. If our guests arriving this weekend like Indian food, I think I will make it for them. David (C&L)
