These melt-in-the-mouth, buttery cookies are made with pecans, fresh chives, Dijon-mustard and sour cream. Perfect for any time of the day! Be warned though - once you start eating one, you might find it difficult to stop! These cookies freeze well. Wait for the cookies to cool completely, then transfer them to a reusable freezer-safe bag or container lined with wax or parchment paper in a single layer. They will keep well for up to 2 months.

  • 150 g Pecans
  • 250 g Plain flour
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 2 tsp Coconut sugar
  • 3/4 tsp Sea salt
  • 1 tsp Black pepper
  • 125 g Butter, softened
  • 100 g Crème fraîche
  • 2 tsp Dijon mustard, medium spicy
  • 30 g Chives, finely chopped
  • 1 Garlic clove, minced
  1. Preheat the oven to 200C/400F. Line a baking tray with baking paper. Set aside 20 pecan halves, break the remaining nuts into coarse pieces with your hands.
  2. Mix the flour, baking powder, coconut sugar, salt and pepper in a mixing bowl. Add the butter, crème fraîche, mustard, chives and pecans. Peel and mince the garlic. Mix everything first with a hand mixer fitted with the dough hooks, then knead briefly with your hands to form a smooth dough.
  3. Divide the dough into 20 portions and shape each into a ball, place on a baking tray and press 1 pecan half into each. Bake in the center of hot oven for 20 minutes until golden brown, flattening the cookies halfway through baking with a spatula or the back of a tablespoon.
  4. Remove from the oven and leave to cool on a wire rack. Store in an air-tight container for up to 4 days.

  23. These look perfect Angie, I love a savoury biscuit. Sour cream is cheaper here than creme fraiche so do you think sour cream could be used instead. I will be freezing some.
