Simply seasoned with salt and crushed black pepper, these pan seared salmon fillets are perfectly paired with dill flavoured sour cream, which naturally and wonderfully marries the rich flavour of salmon, and a side salad (together with a couple slices of German black bread) for a fairly delicious and delightful lunch.
- 2 Salmon fillets
- 1/2 tbsp Fresh lemon juice
- Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
- 1 tbsp Olive oil
- 2-3 tbsp Sour cream
- 1/2 tsp Garlic, minced
- 1/2 tsp Dill, chopped
- 1/2 tsp Lemon juice
- Place the salmon fillets in a shallow bowl. Toss well with lemon juice, salt and pepper. Let rest for 15 minutes. Combine the sour cream, minced garlic, dill and lemon juice in a bowl. Cover and store in the fridge until ready to serve.
- Add the olive oil in a non-stick skillet over medium-high heat, sear the salmon on both sides, about 3-5 minutes for each side. Serve with the prepared sauce and some mixed salad.

ReplyDeleteI apologize for not keeping up with my readings. We left for Paris mid July and are currently in Belgrade. We'll be home sometime next week - and I cannot wait to be home. I love to get away, but going home is just as exciting. And this time, In have had so many fascinating culinary experiences, that I cannot wait to practice in my kitchen at home!
I have a similar salmon recipe that I love, but instead of sour cream, the base is mayo... and we also zest lemon into it. It is deadly. This one sounds deadly, too. Why is it that rich meats (or fish) taste so good with rich sauces?
:)
Valerie
