Soft, tender, and refined sugar-free biscuits that are bursting with juicy tangy blackberries and topped with a rich buttery cinnamony streusel. They're great for breakfast or any time of the day! Of course, these delicious biscuits can also be made with other fruits or frozen berries if fresh one ain't in season. If you use frozen berries, don’t thaw them.

- Place all the ingredients for the streusel in a bowl. Work everything into coarse crumbles with your fingers. Chill until ready to use.
- Preheat the oven to 200C/400F. Line one large baking tray with baking paper. For the biscuits, place the quark, milk, oil, xylitol, salt, flour and baking powder in a bowl. Mix with a hand mixer until well combined. The dough is soft and slightly sticky.
- Divide the dough into 12 portions and shape each portion into a ball. Place them on the prepared baking tray and flatten to the size.
- Top each dough with 4-5 small berries on top. Spoon some jam on the berries, then finish with the streusel.
- Bake in the middle of hot oven for 20 minutes until golden brown. Remove and cool briefly before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely. Dust with icing sugar.
Whenever I see blackberries I am taken back to my childhood when we picked them wild and stuffed them into our mouths. Now kids don’t want to eat them unless they have been taken home and washed! What happened? Your cookies do look amazing, though!
